Dear Attila, thanks for sharing your dscoveries and thoughts on infographics! Concerning the dutch cartocubism, maybe the atlas Zeemann refers to as been "published 25 years ago" is the Schematische teekenatlas van Nederland from 1907. Sadly, I could not find a picture of that book in a quick search. My source: https://www.wereldaandewand.nl/artikel5.htm

It is brilliant, and quite unbelievable that these visualizations are almost a century old. The whole atlas is quite impressive, but I think the European map is definitely outstanding.
